Eugenie L. Campbell, 91, of 130 University Dr., Amherst, died March 2, 2007, in Cooley Dickinson Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late E. Howard and Marguerite H. Lewis. She attended Miss Porter's School in Farmington, CT, and was formerly a member of the Junior League of Syracuse. During the early part of World War II, Eugenie was a secretary at the School of Military Government in Charlottesville, VA. From 1944 to 1945, she served overseas with the American Red Cross in the European Theater of Operations. From 1975 to 1991, she and her late husband, Claude M. Campbell, resided in Dorset, VT, and then moved to Applewood at Amherst. Eugenie was predeceased by her husband, Claude M. Campbell. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy B. Campbell of Amherst, MA, Margo L. Campbell of Greenfield, MA; and four grandchildren. A family memorial service will be held in Vermont at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Eugenie's memory may be made to a charity of choice. The Douglass Funeral Service, Amherst, MA, has been entrusted with arrangements.
