Funeral services for John T. Cleary, 90, prominent El Paso farmer, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St Mary's Catholic Church, El Paso, IL.
The Rev James J. Kerrins will officiate. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery.
Mr. Cleary died Tuesday at a nursing home in West Chicago after a long illness.
Born Oct 10, 1863, east of Bloomington, IL he was a son of Michael and Mary Murphy Cleary. He married Mary Corbley of Kappa in El Paso Feb 16, 1887.
Mr. Cleary farmed in the El Paso area for approximately 50 years. He was one of the organizers and on the first board of directors of the Woodford County Farm Bureau.
He was president of the board of directors of El Paso Farmer's Elevator Co. for a number of years and was a member of the board of education of El Paso Township high school at the time the school building was erected.
Mr. Cleary was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church, El Paso, IL.
Surviving are three sons, Bon (Boniface) J. Cleary of Salem, Ore., and Frank and Eugene Cleary, both of El Paso; four daughters, Mrs. L. H. (Marguerite) Berry of Wheaton, Mrs. V. C. (Catherine ) Bosworth and Mrs. R. S. (Madeline ) Ritchie, both of Bloomington, and Mrs.(Loretta) Arch Haas of El Paso; one sister, Mrs. Ed (Bess) Head of Rantoul; two brothers, Ed Cleary of Paxton and Pat Cleary of El Paso, and a number of grandchildren. His wife and one son preceded him in death.
