"Mittie (Brown) Lester, 71, 3227 6th Ave, died at her residence this morning at 2:30. She had been in declining health for the past two years. A resident of Columbus for the past 38 years, Mrs. Lester was born in Newton, Miss. in 1882, the daughter of S.M. and Nannie Welch Brown. She is survived by her husband, B.L. Lester, one daughter, Mrs. John Smith, one brother, B.F. Brown, one sister, Mrs. M.C. Farley, one grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Britton and Dobbs."
