William Lewis
Chapel services were held Monday for William Lewis, 87, of 915 Suinflower, at Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home in Mesquite. Rev. Bill Biggs officiated with the burial at Long Creek Cemetery in Sunnyvale.
A farmer, he was on arrival Friday at Mesquite Memorial Hospital.
Born in the Rose Hill Community, he spent most of his life in Dallas County. A member of the Assembly of God Church, he lived in Mesquite for the past 26 Years.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Mary Lewis, five sons, Ira A. Lewis of DeSota, John R. and William G. Lewis both of Mesquite, James C. Lewis of Lubbock and Edward Lewis of Seattle, Washington.
Other survivors include Mmes. Carrie Hayden and Mary Estoll, both of Mesquite, Virginia James of ReDondo Beach, Calif., Dorothy Berry of Dallas and Diane Lee of Garland; a brother, Grover C. Lewis of Dallas; sister, Mrs. Goldie Kedy of Mesquite; 45 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
