One of her many loves was traveling to Las Vegas and playing cards with her sister, Fay. After retiring, she loved spending time with her grandsons swimming in the pool, playing cards watching her Soaps on TV and cooking with her husband, especially spaghetti with meatballs. Later, after she moved in with her daughter, she enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the birds, playing with "Max" the Yorkie, watching the Orioles on TV, and visiting with the grandsons.
She is survived by her loving children, as well as two cherished grandsons; one loving step-granddaughter; sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Always dear to her heart were her deceased brothers, Otis, Noah (Dale) and Walter (Jr.) Dotson, and sister, Annie Fay Shaffer, and her daughter, Sheila Freeman.
The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Sunday, August 6th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A service to celebrate the life of Jacqueline Serio will be held on Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions in Jacqueline’s name to Hospice of the Chesapeake at www.hospicechesapeake.org.
