Effie Hill, 93, of Chaplin, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at her home. She was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Washington County to the late Fletcher & Margaret Hamilton Carrico. She was a former employee of Cowden Manufacturing in Springfield, a homemaker, a Kentucky Colonel, & a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Buddy" Hill; one son, Harry Hill; & her parents.

She is survived by three daughters, Roxie Hill of Springfield, Brenda Coulter (Russell) of Chaplin, & Patty Cull (Melvin) of Chaplin; two sons, Billy Hill (Barbara) of Bardstown & Michael Hill of Chaplin; one daughter-in-law, Lois Hill of Chaplin; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; & 5 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Wanda Coulter, Russ Coulter, & Karen Noe.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fairview, with the Rev. Bill Hammer celebrant, & Joe Carrico. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery at Chaplin.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 & 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with a prayer service at 5 p.m. Friday.

The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
