Was born in New York City, New York, on October 4,1912
to Francesca Beninati Galioto and Fedele Galioto. He was the eldest of nine children, five Brothers and three sisters. He grew up in the Soho district of New York City. As a young man he joined the CC Camp and traveled to Utah where he met and married Violet Mae Jensen Galioto, June 2,1939. They lived, in Salt Lake City where their daughter Frances Rae was born. Later they moved to Ogden, Utah, and finally Phoenix, Arizona in 1952. Augie was a devoted husband and father. He spent a great deal of time with his family and was very close to his extended family including Mae's mother, sisters, brother, nieces and nephews. He loved children and was a second father to his granddaughter, Stacey Kay Offerman Winkehnann. He loved skiing, sledding, photography and traveling. He often traveled to visit his daughter, Frances and son-in-law, Henri Jarrat, in Mazatlan, Mexico, San Jose, California and Las Vegas Nevada, making new friends in each location, and assisting with a myriad off family projects. Augie retired as Regional Inventory Control Manager of Walgreen Drugs, after 37 years of service. In his later years, he enjoyed studying and working with computers. He especially liked applying his newly developed computer knowledge in the service to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as Finance Clerk. He held this position for 50 years primarily in the Phoenix 11th and Biltmore Wards. He especially loved this position Because it gave the an opportunity to work closely with the leaders and members of the church. He made friends easily, was loved and respected by all for his forthrightness, honesty and genuine caring for others. He was always willing to help someone, no matter what the need. He was a kind, good man with a generous nature and an easy laugh. He will be missed by many.
