He was the son of Eva (Spangler) and Benjamin Tuck. He had worked as a logger. He died of catastrophic injuries on a road south of the McClellan Field runway in Sacramento, CA. He was survived by his wife Shirley M Tuck, his children, Michael and Deanne Tuck, and his mother and six sisters.

During a flight from McChord Air Field in
Washington to Kingman, Arizona, the bomber
experienced structural failures due to severe
icing conditions, and crashed near McClellan
Field in Sacramento before it could make an
emergency landing.

All thirteen Army personnel aboard perished.
