G. SUVERKRUBBE BURIED SATURDAY
PROMINENT FORT CALHOUN FARMER DIED EARLY LAST THURSDAY MORNING
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church for Gus Suverkrubbe, 60, who was found dead early last Thursday morning with a rifle by his side. In charge of the services was Rev. Robert Prentice of Fort Calhoun. Burial was made in Fort Calhoun cemetery.
Gus Suverkrubbe was born on a farm near Kennard March 24, 1874, and grew up on his fatherís farm one mile south of Wranch school. On September 2, 1897 he was married to Miss Amanda Rohn of Pierce, Nebraska, and the couple spent the first four years of the married life in Pierce county.
In the spring of 1901 they moved to a farm south of Fort Calhoun, where they had resided since. Eight children were born to them, one son, Henry, dying in 1920. Mrs. Suverkrubbe survives, as do seven children: Mrs. R.S. Chew of Omaha; Mrs. Carl Hansen of Omaha; William, Luella, John, George and Earl, all of Fort Calhoun. One grandchild also survives.
