William Edward Davis of Electra passed peacefully on July 22, 2017 in Wichita Falls. William was born on June 11, 1933 in Powell, Texas to Velma and Alvin Davis. He grew up in Electra and graduated from Electra High School. While stationed in Newfoundland, Canada, he met his wife, Mary White. They were married in Stephenville, Newfoundland on January 25, 1955. They had four children and were married for 55 years. While in the Millitary, William was seargeant first class- E-7. He completed 2 tours in Vietnam as a Platoon Seargeant. After his retirement from the military, he worked for the City of Electra and the Electra School District. After the passing of his wife Mary in 2010, he was remarried to Joyce Jones. William was a devoted Christian and was a member of Electra Church of God for many years. He later became a member of the First Assembly of God in Electra. He was a kind man, who would do anything for anyone without hesitation. He loved to work in his garden and could grow, build, or fix anything. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary; wife Joyce; son John; sister Billie Jean; and his parents. He is survived by his children, Patricia Underwood and husband Stanley of Burkburnett, Joseph Davis of Iowa Park, and Danny Davis and wife Melisa of Ft. Worth; his grandchildren, Branson, Mindy, Dayshanette, and Destiny; and great grandchildren, Presley-Ann, Kinley, Brandon, and Cayson. The family will be taking visitors on Tuesday from 6-8 at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.
