Former owner of the Clay County Advocate-Press Arthur A. Allen, 74, of Ft. Mead, Fla., died at 8:20 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 1989, at the Lake Wales Hospital, Lake Wales, Fla.

Mr. Allen was born on Oct. 28, 1914 in Ashley, the son of Samuel and Lucille (Coleman) Allen. He married Wilma Isaacs in 1933 in Anna. He was the former owner of the Clay County Advocate-Press, and a member of the Flora Elks Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Lois Isle of Lake Wales, Fla., and Crystal Roller of Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Mary J. Smith of Rockford; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one brother.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, at the Clay City Cemetery. Local arrangements are being made by the Hosselton, Bookhout and Engelmeier Funeral Home, Clay City.
