Born in Minneapolis,Minnesota March 11,1923 to the late Brig.General William G. Walker and Jeanne Haight Walker. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Charles Buchman,brother Col.William G. Walker Jr. (USAF),Col. James Harper Walker (USAF),sisters Margaret Walker Lancaster and Barbara Walker Collins and grandson Todd Christopher Prosser.
She is survived by daughters Charlotte Buchman Curry and son-in-law Mark Curry,Ellen Buchman Prosser and son-in-law Ted C. Prosser Jr. of Ocala,FLA,son Raymond Charles Buchman Jr. and daughter-in-law Mary (Mimi) Buchman of Humble,TX.
8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren,sisters and brothers-in-laws Etta Ruth Buchman Heird and Martha Buchman Brauning and Gary Brauning and numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Arlington H.S in Arlington Massachusetts and Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) in Westminster Maryland. She worked for the Carroll County Board of Education from 1955-1981 as a schoo; teacher at Hampstead Elementary Sykesville Middle and Westminster Middle Schools. She was a tour guide for Lincoln Bus Touring from 1979 thru the 1980's. She was an active member of American Volksmarch Association (National/International) Piedmont Pacer Chapter. An enthusiastic walker,she has walked in all 50 states,the entire C&O Canal and various Provinces throughout Canada.
Her hobbies included family activities with her children,grandchildren and great grandchildren,multiple bridge clubs and investment club,gardening and she especially enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S,Canada,Europe,Central America,Mexico and the Caribbean.
Professional memberships included ZATA TAU ALPHA Tnt'l Soroity,Omicron Delta Gamma,Maryland Retired Teachers and Carroll County Retired Teachers.
She was a member of Ascension Episcopal Church.
