"Bobby" was the son of Fred Pierce & Carrie Mae Everts Pierce.

He served as a Second Lieutenant & Bombardier on B-17 #42-3091, 422nd Bomber Squadron, 305th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided at 109 South Main Street in Middlebury, Vermont prior to the war. He went to Middlebury College for three years until June of 1942.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on April 22, 1942 in Rutland, Vermont. He was noted as being employed as a Actor and also as Single, without dependents.

Robert was "Killed In Action" when his B-17 was hit by enemy flak and crashed 10 miles Northeast of Frankfurt, Germany during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
