Edward J Kulesa Sr. 81 formerly of Central Bridge died Sunday at home after a short illness.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Kulesa lived on North Main Street in Central Bridge from 1948 until moving to South Carolina in 1990. He and his family lived on Junction Road from 1940 to 1948. Previously he lived in Riverhead, Long Island where he was educated.
Mr. Kulesa was an auto mechanic at the former Parsons Ford dealership in Central Bridge from 1945 until 1950. He worked in the maintenance department at the Howes Cave Cement from the mid 50's until retiring in 1974.
After retiring, Mr. Kulesa was a night watchman for the D.A. Collins section of Interstate 88 in Central Bridge and Howes Cave. He also worked for the Army Depot in Rotterdam and the Grantier Implement Co. in Central Bridge at one time.
Mr. Kulesa was a communicant of St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church of Schoharie and a member of the Central Bridge Fire Dept.
His wife Elizabeth "Betty" Lepianka Kulesa , whom he married Aug. 21 1938 died in 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Edward J Kulesa Jr. of Esperance and Richard S. Kulesa of Florence; a daughter, Diane F Kennedy of Greenville, S.C.; three sisters, Alice Rempe of Riverhead, Helen Skonieczny and Jennie Sadowski, both of Bridgehampton, Long Island; nine grand children and eight great grandchildren.
