Margaret Anderson Burkett passed away June 3,2017 in Floresville ,Texas, at the age of 89 years 2 months and 4 days .Margaret was born in Dallas on March 30th , 1928 ,to Kenneth Greer and Mary Lee Gauntt Anderson.
She was a resident of Floresville for the last 20 years. She was raised in Athens ,and returned to Athens as an adult to live for many more years .
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LTCol. Jackson Burkett; great-grandchild Maisie Duvall; and sisters Mary Lee Barnes and Nancy Garrard .
Margaret is survived by her children Jackson Burkett and his wife Jeany of Davilla ,Texas and Julia Duvall and husband Glenn of Sutherland springs, Texas ; grandchildren Jacenda Burkett Hanna and husband Jason of Smithville, TX ,Celena Luciano and Husband Efrain of Killeen ,and Dustin Duvall and wife Janelle of San Antonio ;great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Baranoski, Nikolaus Baranowski and Jerico Luciano ; numerous nieces and nephews ;and host of friends .
Graveside services will be held June 24th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Athens City Cemetery.
