SHREVEPORT, LA – Services to celebrate the life of Earline G. Hickman, 89, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Mel Campbell of Frierson Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Friday evening from 5 pm – 7 pm at the funeral home.

Earline entered this world on April 26, 1928, and left it behind for her heavenly home on May 30, 2017. She played high school basketball and graduated from Gaars Mill High School in 1945. On April 3, 1947, Earline married Lewis P. Hickman in Jonesboro, LA and together they raised two sons.

Earline was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church and attended the Priscilla Sunday school class. For more than twenty years, Earline was employed at J.C. Penney and worked in the shoe department. She enjoyed her job, more than anything else, she enjoyed her family. Earline was a loving mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law who will be deeply missed.

Earline is preceded in death by her husband; son, Lewis Perry Hickman; granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Hickman; one brother; four sisters; and her parents. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Ronald "Ron" Hickman and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren, Jonathan Paul Hickman and William Ross Hickman; great-grandchildren, Aaron Hickman and Carson James Hickman; daughter-in-law, Mary Hickman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Guest House for all of their kindness and care.
