Tuesday,
News was received by the Moonah from King Island to-day that four lads were drowned in Surprise Bay on February 22. The boys were three brothers named Archie, Elvin and Ernest Anderson, and Ernest Montrose, an orphan, who was working for Mr D. Bowling. After completing their day's work, they proceeded to a lagoon in a boat for a bathe, and not returning by evening a search was made and two bodies were found, the others being recovered by diving. The boat was also found swamped. No one saw the accident, but it is presumed that the boat capsized. An inquest was held on Monday, when a verdict of accidentally drowned was returned. The three brothers were sons of Mr Edward Anderson, and they have relatives in this city.
