Mr. Tooke graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana Tech with a B.S. degree in agriculture in 1942. He retired from the Farmers Home Administration of the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 33 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Rayville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and James Clarence Tooke; and his sister, Doris Smith.
He was survived by his wife, Opal Allgood Tooke of Rayville; three children, Martha Harrell of Rayville, John Tooke and wife Michelle of Conway, AR, and Linda Harrell and husband James of Archibald; one sister, Mildred Bell and husband Albert of Many; two brothers, James Franklin Tooke, and David B. Tooke and wife Glenda, all of Homer; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, nieces and nephews.
