Elsie S. Carpenter, 94, of Ephrata, died Monday, November 22, 2004 at her residence. She was under a doctor's care.
She was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late James C. and the late Mary Blimline Sweigart. She was the wife of the late Raymond I. Carpenter who died in 1998.
She was a life member of the Golden Years Club of the Ephrata Recreation Center and enjoyed bingo, eating out and bus trips.
Surviving are 3 sons, Dale E. Carpenter of Lancaster, Glenn R Carpenter and Jay R. Carpenter, both of Ephrata; 3 daughters, Betty L. Sheaffer and Patricia A Beamesderfer, both of Lititz, and Darlene L. Dohner of Cleona; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond I. Carpenter and a daughter, Gloria Jean Hermany.
Friends will be received from 10:00 A.M. till time of service, Saturday, November 27 at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata. Services will follow at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Jeffrey Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata.
