GROTON--Keith V. Pierce, 60, of 480 Lick Street., Groton died Tuesday evening, June 16, 1992 at his home after a long illness.

Mr. Pierce was born Aug. 8, 1931 in Groton the son of the late John and Ethel Loomis Pierce.

Mr. Pierce has been a lifelong resident of the Groton area and he had worked in the construction industry for several area firms from 1959 until 1971. During that time, he had also been involved with his own dairy farm and started the Pierce Logging Company in 1972 which he owned and operated with his sons up until the time of his death.

Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife, Alice Lockwood Pierce at home. Five sons, Thomas, Douglas and Gary all of Groton, Spencer of Cortland and Wayne of Moravia. Two daughters, Christine Galbraith of Groton and Susan Tomlinson of New Jersey. One brother, Emerald Pierce of Moravia. One sister, Sylvia Woernley of Groton. 18 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sun., June 21 at 3 p.m. at the Zirbel Funeral Home, 115 Williams St., Groton with Rev. James Cavanaugh officiating. There are no calling hours.
