He was the widower of Joyce Smets Bruns.
He was survived by two daughters, Bethany Perry of Alma and Imelda Jackson of Befford, Texas; two sons, Bob Bruns of Alma and Tony Bruns of Van Buren; a sister, Caroline Allen of Van Buren; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held February 27, 2004 at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery.
