Mr. Askew was a retired truck driver for Kentucky Clay Co. of Sledge. He was born January 26, 1924, in Panola County. He served his country for three years during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Askew; three daughters, Minnie Askew of Crenshaw, Bobbie Ayers of Horn Lake, and Hattie Robinson of St. Louis; seven sons, Charles Askew of Minot Air Force Base, ND, George Askew of Senatobia, Lee Askew, Jr. of Sledge, Simmie Askew and Undra Askew, both of Crenshaw, and Calvin Askew and Bernard Askew, both of Atlanta; and a number of grandchildren.
