Emma attended Williams Grade School and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1951. She had lived in the Watson community her entire life. Emma was an occasional telephone operator for the Watson Rural Telephone Company. She also worked for the Security Benefit Life Insurance Company, the Topeka Supply Depot and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1990 after 30 years of service.
Emma was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church.
Emma married Bill Wilson on January 1, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2001.
Survivors include three sons, Will E. Wilson and Matthew D. Wilson both of Overbrook, Kansas and Scotty D. (Denise) Wilson of Tecumseh, Kansas, three grandsons, Matthew D. Wilson, II, William P.S. Wilson, Bill S. Wilson, two granddaughters, Victoria Barnett, Kylie R. Wilson and three great-grandchildren, Cooper Wilson, Zetalee Wilson and Emmabelle Wilson.
