According to the 1860 census, she was living with Levi in New Lebanon, Columbia, New York where Levi was a merchant. Sometime after the birth of her daughter Carrie in 1861, Amanda and Levi moved to Adrian Michigan where Levi continued to be a merchant. In Nov.of 1869 Amanda gave birth to Jas Fred Auchampaugh. Two months later she died in Adrian Michigan. Since her death occurred 75 days after the birth of her son, she may have died as a result of complications from childbirth.
Amanda was the sister of Joseph E Moore (b.1838- ) and Jas (James) Moore (1828 - 1914) both of Albany and Hannah Moore Sutherland (4/30/1833-3/22/1869)
According to the Albany NY Evening Journal of February 8th, 1870 Levi brought Amanda's body back to Quaker Street, NY for the funeral and burial in the family plot in the Quaker Cemetery behind the Friends Meeting House in Quaker Street, NY on February 9th, 1870. Amanda is buried next to her sister and in the same lot with her mother and father.
On 7/27/1871 according to the Adrian Daily Telegraph, Levi J remarried Angelina Green.
In the 1880 Census Levi Auchampaugh (Lelis Ouchamldaugh) (boy did they screw up that spelling!) and Angelina are still in Adrian but have expanded their family. Carrie and Fred (James Fred) are still living there.
Her son, Jas Fred Auchampaugh married Etta Bolles, 11/23/1891, had a son Leo, and died on May 3, 1937 in Seattle Washington.
According to Michigan Marriages, her daughter, Carrie Auchampaugh married Nathaniel B Gilbert on 9/18/1883 in Adrian Michigan with Levi Auchampaugh as the witness. Had a child Luther O. Gilbert.
At age 63, on July 6, 1925, Carrie Gilbert married William H Williams in Jackson Michigan. (Thanks to Jim Lyles for the information on Carrie's marriage to William H Williams)
