Arthur E Galpin was a machinist and auto mechanic at the Remington Arms Company and was well known in Bridgeport as a skater. He died within months of his wife, Catherine Lillian Brunnemann Galpin, during the Flu Pandemic of 1919.

Arthur Galpin, 31, of 347 East Avenue, died yesterday at the Metropolitan Hospital, New York City, following an illness of long duration. He was well known in this city and was employed by the Remington-Arms Company. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Martha Galpin; two sisters: Mrs. Patrick Doran and Mrs. Walter Jones; and five children: Martha, Katherine, William, Arthur and Robert. The body will be brought to this city by Undertaker August G Baker and the funeral will be from his new mortuary chapel, No. 1888 Stratford Avenue. The burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
