"MRS. WILLIAM L. KILMER At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Loren R. Chase, at Central Bridge, Thursday, April 15, 1937, occurred the death of Mrs. Carrie Kilmer, following an illness of six weeks. Death was attributed to kidney and heart difficulty. Mrs. Kilmer had been at the home of her daughter less than a week having been removed from her home near Central Bridge the Sunday previous to her demise. Funeral services were held from the Reformed church at Howes Cave at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. Harry Morehouse, former pastor of Mrs. Kilmer at Howes Cave, officiated and was assisted by Rev. Charles F. Unger, present pastor of the church. This followed a prayer service by Rev. George Mais, pastor of the M. E. church at Central Bridge, at the Chase home. Interment was made in the Sloansville cemetery. Deceased, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Palmatier, was born at Howes Cave December 25, 1869, and had always resided in this vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Kilmer celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on Mrs. Kilmer's last birthday, Christmas day. The survivors are her husband, William L. Kilmer of Howes Cave; four daughters, Mrs. Grace Monthie, Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas and Mrs. Anna Chase of Central Bridge, and Mrs. Marjorie Schafer of Charlotteville; three sons, Jones, Howes Cave, Myron, Central Bridge, and Warren, Schenectady; nine grandchildren, Charles, Mildred and Gladys Monthie and Lorraine and Mary Lou Thomas of Central Bridge, Shirley and Marion Joyce Kilmer, Howes Cave, Warren Kilmer, Jr., Schenectady, and Robert Shafer, Charlotteville; three sisters, Mrs. James Kniskern, Albany, Mrs. Jesse Gordon, Howes Cave, and Mrs. Margaret Hodge, Binghamton; and one brother, Warren Palmatier, Binghamton; also several nieces and nephews."
