CARL MARTIN 57, CLAIMED BY DEATH

Carl Martin, 57, 2933 73rd St. died at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Wood, Wis., Saturday night following a lingering illness.

Born in Frankreich, Russia, Oct. 11, 1908, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christ Martin. He came to the United States in 1909 and had lived in Kenosha since 1923. He married Miss Edna Haensgen in 1935.

Mr. Martin joined the Army Air Corps May 18, 1941, and received an honorable discharge in November of the same year. He worked at American Motors until 1950 when he retired because of ill health. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

He is survived by his widow, six sons, Robert, Ronald, Carl, Michael and Patrick, all of Kenosha, and David, with the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Tex.; one daughter, Kristi, Kenosha; and one grandchild. He also is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Martin, Kenosha; one brother, Ray Martin, Mt. Carmel, Ill.; and three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Mollie) Esler, Chicago,and Mrs. Mary Radatz and Mrs. William (Martha) Spicer, both of Kenosha.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.

Carl Martin, 56, of 2933 71st St. Kenosha, died Saturday night at the Veterans Hospital, Wood, following a lingering illness.

Mr. Martin was born in May, 1909 in Fond du Lac, the son of Chris and Mary Martin. He married Edna Haensgen in 1935 in Mount Calvary. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his widow; five sons, Robert and Ronald, Kenosha, Pvt. David Martin, Ft. Hood, Tex., and Michael and Patrick, at home; one daughter, Christi, at home; his mother; one brother, Raymond and three sisters, Mrs. Bud Effer, Mrs. Alora Raditz and Mrs. William Spicer, all residing in Chicago.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bruch Funeral Home, Kenosha. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kenosha.
