Kathryn C. Hassett, 97, Davenport, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 1995, at Kahl Home for the Aged and Infirm, Davenport. Services are 9 a.m. Saturday at Kahl Home Chapel, Davenport. Burial is in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation is after the service at Kahl Home Chapel. Memorials may be made to the home. Halligan-McCabe Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Hassett was born Feb. 20, 1898, in Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Josephine Renie Hassett. She was a graduate of Brown's Business College, Davenport. She was a secretary for the former People's Gas and Light Co. In 1942, she moved to California, where she was an executive secretary for the Morrison-Knudsen Construction Co., working both in San Francisco and Honolulu. She retired in 1968 and returned to Davenport. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of several local bridge groups.

Survivors include nieces Rita Smith, Davenport, and Sister Kathryn Lawlor, BVM, Dubuque; nephews Daniel Lawlor, Grove, Okla., Joseph Lawlor, Homer, Alaska, and John Lawlor, Kieler, Wis.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
