Jimmy Cheatham

Jazz Musician. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he was a trombonist and bandleader of "The Sweet Baby Blues Band". Known for their "Kansas City-Style" jazz and blues sound, the group formed during the 1950s and also included Cheatham's wife, pianist Jeannie Cheatham. During his career he performed with music legends Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, and Chico Hamilton. (bio by: C.S.)
