Actor, Comedian and Disability Rights Activist. He was a Canadian Actor, Comedian, and Disability Rights Activist. He was the "little man who gave us some big laughs." The 3-foot-tall comedian, who was born with Morquio Syndrome, a rare birth defect associated with dwarfism, centered his comedic routines on stories and rants about all the, using a play on words, "handicrap" he dealt with on a daily basis as a physically disabled person. He moved to Toronto in 2001 to attend Humber College's School of Comedy Writing and Performance program. He performed stand-up all-over Canada and parts of the United States before turning to acting, where he would land roles on such television shows as "Screwed Over," "Kenny vs. Spenny," "The Jon Dore Television Show," "Freak Encounters," "Warehouse 13" and "Ryan Gosling Must Be Stopped." His films included "Hank and Mike" in 2008, "The Story of Luke" in 2012, and "Nine Plus One" in 2014. In 2015, Arruda underwent spinal surgery, which proved to be near-fatal. He died of pneumonia which was related to his disease.
