ALBANY, Ore.--Chateau native and Army veteran Alvin Ernest "Bud" Arensmeyer, 76, died of cancer July 24 at his home in Albany, Ore.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Choteau. Aasum Funeral Home of Albany is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Evergreen Hospice, Albany, Ore.

Arensmeyer was born March 14 1924, in Choteau. He graduated from high school there and served six years in the Army, including during World War II.

He married Beverly McKenzie Dec. 23, 1946, in Great Falls; they later divorced.

After his military discharge, he ran the Standard Service Station in Choteau and then was a parts man for Montana Chevrolet garages in Missoula and Whitefish. In Albany he worked 20 years as a parts man, including for Stoddard Chevrolet and Lassen Chevrolet. He retired in 1995.

He married Genevieve Ann (Gerry) Kingcade May 19, 1978, in Las Vegas.

Arensmeyer belonged to the Golf Club of Oregon and was a past member of the Albany Elks Lodges.
