Lenora W. Shirey, of Clarion, passed away on January 29, 2017 at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center (formerly Golden Living) in Shippenville. She was 104 years of age.
Born on April 17, 1912 in New Bethlehem, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Bowersox) Weeter.
Lenora was a graduate of the West Penn Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She married Reno A. Shirey in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Lenora was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion and United Methodist Women. She was an avid Bridge player.
She is survived by her son, George Shirey and his wife Josephine, of Clarion; her daughter Jane Lowell and her husband, James, of Mechanicsburg; her grandchildren, Susan (Dennis) Pellegrino of Newtown, PA, Janet (Keith) Welp of Macungie, PA, Laura (Chris) Cowan of Ossining NY, and Diana (Kasey) Cosgrove of Valley View, PA. She is also survived by five great- grandchildren, Julia and Eric Welp, Evelyn Cowan, and Atticus and Ophelia Edwards.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, Clarion where visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin R. Haley officiating. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery.
