Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Myrtle Ruth Harrison Dodd, 93, will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Rachel McConnell-Switzer. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Myrtle was born on June 22, 1924 in Monroe, LA and went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 11, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. She was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Myrtle worked at WL Somner Co. and First United Methodist Church in Shreveport for many years. She was a member of Summer Grove United Methodist Church.
Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Virgil Henry Dodd, Jr.; parents, Claudia and Clarence Harrison; son, Jeffrey Wayne Dodd and brother, Clarence Neal Harrison, Jr.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Myrtle are her children, Henry Dodd (Janet), Anita Lockwood (Buddy) and Shanna Renee Dodd; grandchildren, Angie McEachern (Darrin), Paul (Amy), Patrick (Nikkie) and Peyton (Christina) Dodd, Mark & Michael Lockwood, Skye Bird (Percy), Matt (Eva) and Chase Callicoatte, Jared & Colby Dodd, and Alanna Lawrence; great grandchildren, Emily and Brandon Morrow, Drake, Brogen, Kingsley, Avery, Ashton, Scarlett, Sophie, AnnaClaire, EllaKate, Gracie & Aubree Dodd, Logan Smith, Abby & Colin Callicoatte and Claudia Dodd.
