He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as an Air Force Private. He served his community by working for both Clackamas Community College and St. John’s Catholic Apostle School of Oregon City. He devoted more than 51 years to his work for St Johns. John was an incredible person, when you entered his home he filled the room with great laughter and brilliant stories. He loved to joke around and never once lost his sense of humor.
At his request, John made his wishes known that in lieu of flowers for his service, a contribution to St Johns Apostle of Oregon City can be made. [St Johns School, 516 5th St. Oregon City, OR]
He was survived by two of his brothers Jimmy and Bob and his two sisters Pat and Florence. He was also survived by 7 daughters, 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church [417 Washington St, Oregon City]. The Rosary will start at10:30 A.M and the Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Immediately following the Mass, a committal service will be held at St. Johns the Apostle Cemetery. [451 Warner St, Oregon City].
