Ruth Helen Brown, 87, of Black Oak died Thursday, Nov. 3, at her residence.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Black Oak Baptist Church. Ruth was born to Pearly and Katie Clark Kelems.

She is survived by her husband, C.R. Brown of the home; a son, Paul Brown of Jonesboro; two daughters, Paulette Fleming of Troy, Mich., and Wynette Hall of Gaithersburg, Md.; a sister, Mildred Brown of Caraway; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearly and Ruth Kelems; four brothers; and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Langford-Bookout Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Chad Morgan and the Rev. Ulysses Vandermolen officiating. Entombment will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park. Langford-Bookout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Roy Kelems, Jess Kelems, Jesse Fleming, Mark Fleming, Dwight Gurley and Dan Finch.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
