Daughter of Benjamin and Roena/Rowena Johnson Grandy. She married Horace L. Quimby in Wayne Co., NY before the date of the 1840 census. Horace and Electa had 9 children together. Abt. 1849 they left NY State and traveled through Illinois on to Wisconsin, living at various times in Pike, Dale and Dupont. Her first husband died sometime after Apr. 1876, and Electa moved briefly with her children to Oregon and Washington Territory in the early 1880's. By 1886 she had returned to reside in Marion, Waupaca, Wisconsin. On Feb. 6, 1887 she was remarried to Erastus Ramsdell, a widower. Her death notice published Apr. 9, 1896 in the Marion Advertiser notes she died of paralysis at the age of 75.
