Mrs. Baskin, age 72, of Meridian passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at John C. Stennis Memorial Hospital in DeKalb.

Mrs. Baskin accepted Christ as her Savior in June of 1978 and has served Him faithfully throughout her life. She dearly loved her family and friends and enjoyed doing for them to her utmost ability. She would always go above and beyond the extra mile for others. She was a loving and caring person.

Rue Jr. (whom she claimed was her buddy); grandson, Adam T. Rue and wife, Sarah Johnson; a very special great granddaughter, Alayna Michelle Rue (whom Mrs. Baskin loved dearly); special brother, Tommy Brantley and wife, Patricia Brantley; sister, Elizabeth Ann Davidson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Charles W. Cole; parents, Ivy and Katie Merle Brantley; sisters, Sondra Merle Brantley and Linda Lou Dearman.

Pallbearers will be Adam Rue, Terry Lewis, Mark Scott, and Lynn McNeal. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Windom, Thomas C. Null Jr., and Charles Robert Irwin.
