Born, Sept. 1844 in Tenn., Tulahoma. He was a private in Company C, 23rd Tenn. Inf. from 7/1861 to 4/ 1865. He was wounded in the right arm and was a prisoner at Chicago, Ill. He lived in Montgomery township in Wright Co., in 1900. Applied for a pension on Jan. 1, 1913 at age 71 and was living in Manes, Mo. at that time. Burgis is buried in the Mount Zion Cemetery. This man could possibly be buried in Mt Zion Cem in Webster Co, Mo.
