Cyrenus W. Hey
Graveside services for Cyrenus W. Hey, 97, 686 Van Ave., who died Wednesday at Major Hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Forest Hill Cemetery. The Rev. David Schnepf will officiate.
No calling hours will be held.
Mr. Hey, a lifelong Shelby County resident, had been a farmer and self-employed electrician and carpenter. He was the oldest member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ where he had belonged for 85 years. He had also served as a trustee for Shelby Township from 1938-1946 and was a veteran of World War I.
A son of Daniel and Samantha (Shutt) Hey, he was born March 21, 1894, in Shelby Township. He was married on April 4, 1920, to Edna Clayton, who preceded him in death on April 20, 1973.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. James (Marcella) Crosby, R.R. 1, Flat Rock, and Norma Pierson, Shelbyville; a son, Maurice Hey, Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Three sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
