Mrs. Mary Odelle Surette widow of William Surette, of Lower West Pubnico, passed away on August 21st at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital where she was bedridden for almost 60 days. The deceased was born on Surettes Island, December 7, 1889, the daughter of the late Sammy Brown and Geneviève Muise. She was 77 years old. She leaves to mourn three daughters, Mrs. Norbert d'Entremont, Jane, Mrs. Benoit d'Entremont, Doris, and Mrs. Resther d'Entremont, Alfreda, all three of the village; six sons, Arthur, Harvey, Richard, Josephat, Wilbert and Walter. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Emma Swim and two brothers, George and William Nelson. Mrs Surette was grandmother of 23 children and great-grandmother of six. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, August 23rd, at St. Peter's Church. Father Ambroise Comeau, Priest, officiated and the pallbearers were Arthur Louis, Jimmy, Nil Paul, Bennett, and Viateur d'Entremont and Edmond Surette.
