A Deaf Man Run Down and Killed
Excelsior Springs, MO June 11 (Special)

Lewis Crawford was run over this morning by a Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul train near town. The man was deaf. He was walking along track and the engineer did his best to stop the train, but could not. Crawford was about 50 years of age. (KANSAS CITY JOURNAL; Wednesday 12 June 1895, page 4)
