She was the daughter of Jacob Reed and Sarah Ellen Dugan and was born circa 1839 from the 1860 census, but was listed as age 82 on her death certificate, which calculates to circa 1843. She married Henry Doan[e] first, but a reliable Reed family member notes that she may have later married Mr. Willis. Her death certificate lists her as Catherine Doan, widow of Henry, with her burial in Mt. Zion with no town, but it is assumed she is buried in this particular Mt. Zion Cemetery, rather than in the other one in this county since the undertaker was J. O. Coleman out of Hughesville. Her death certificate lists her birth date as "unknown". The book for this cemetery does not list her under either Doan[e] or Willis and the church records for the cemetery only go back to 1942. So it is assumed that she never had a grave marker.
