Faye Julian Aspaas, 87, of Shiprock, passed from this life Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at her home in Shiprock. Faye was born March 21, 1919, in Red Valley, Ariz., to mother, Ah heh De Bah, and father, Hulian. She graduated from Wingate High School. She married Frank Aspaas Sr. in Aztec, March 15, 1942.
Faye loved traveling, camping, football, baseball, bingo, movies, canning, sewing and spending quality time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Faye will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ah heh De Bah; father, Hulian; husband, Frank Aspaas Sr.; daughters, Patricia Louise Aspaas, and Roseann Aspaas; and sisters, Lucy Benally and Daisy Morris.
Faye is survived by her sons, Frank Aspaas Jr., Christopher Aspaas Sr., Anthony Aspaas, Michael Aspaas, Duane Aspaas, and Rawlin Aspaas; daughters, Wanda Atcitty, Clinath Alexander, Priscilla Kellywood, Karla Montoya and Julie Aspaas; 41 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday Jan. 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Farmington.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Tim Farrell as celebrant. She will then be laid to rest at Shiprock Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Frank Aspaas Jr., Christopher Aspaas Sr., Anthony Aspaas, Michael Aspaas, Duane Aspaas and Rawlin Aspaas. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Atcitty, Elton Atcitty, Ronnie Alexander, Lance Aspaas, Vance Aspaas, Julian Aspaas, Keon Aspaas, Hussein Montoya, Adler Montoya, Patrick Aspaas, Keishaun Aspaas, and all other Nahlii grandsons and great-grandsons.
