Florence E. Breech, age 91, of Catawissa died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, a patient of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. Florence was a resident of her home in Catawissa for over 36 years.
Florence was born Friday, March 20, 1925, in Catawissa Township, Columbia County, the only child of the late Henry and Marie (Longenberger) Brisco. Throughout her younger years, Florence attended the Catawissa area schools, and later graduated from Catawissa High School in 1943, as an honor student among a class of 36 students.
For over 30 years, Florence was employed by Emenee Shirt Factory of Catawissa. In 1990, she retired from Joeville Mfg.
Florence was a life member of the Catawissa VFW Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending her time crocheting, knitting, and cooking.
In addition to her parents, Florence was also preceded by daughter, Valerie Ann Breech, and a granddaughter, Karen Koch Babich.
Survivors include three children: Marie Elaine Gass of Brownstown, Mich.; William F. (Doris) Breech of Bloomsburg; and Cora Christine (Thomas) Meeker of Bloomsburg; four granddaughters: Lani, Leslie, Taira, and Ashlee; two great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
