Melvin S. Olsen, 69, of Orem, died Saturday, October 26, 1991, at his home.
He was born July 27, 1922, in Moroni, Utah, the oldest son of Sherman and Florence Paulson Olsen.
He married Berdine Porter, they were later divorced. He married Arlene Gunderson Hadfield April 8, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He grew up in Ephraim, Utah. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Utah Power and Light after 35 years of service.
He was a member of the Good Sam Club Whistle Stop Chapter.
He is survived by his wife, Orem; four daughters and one son, Janice Cable, Denver, Colorado; Carol Sorensen, Sandy; Kathy Sanchez, Orem; Marilyn Paris, Germanton, North Carolina; Jerry Hadfield, Yakima, Washington; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, at 11 a.m., in the Orem Lakeview Stake Center, 1850 South 400 West. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Sundberg - Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State, Orem, and Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the stake center.
Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
