Sexton's record reports he was born 15 SEP 1876, but buried JAN 1945, aged 77 years (so born ca. 1868); Dolores Autry's "Historic LInwood Cemetery" book, Volume 1, reports his dates (presumably from his grave marker inscription) to be 1867-1945, and the 1900 census reports he was born Sept. 1867, so the birth date in the Sexton's record is evidently in error.

Son of George R. & Rhoda A. (ODOM) CLARK, who married 05 JUN 1861 in Muscogee County, Georgia.

Mary Jane Galer's list of persons interred in the New Cemetery area of Linwood shows: Edw. R. CLARK, single male, born 15 SEP 1876 [sic] in Muscogee County, Georgia, died aged 77 years in the city hospital [Columbus, Georgia] of acute cerebral hemorrhage; buried 09 JAN 1945 in Section 2, Lot 1133, by undertaker [David A.] STRIFFLER, reference local death certificate #3978 - Sexton J. B. SHORES; remarks: son of George R. & Rhoda ODOM CLARK.

Per Georgia Death Index: Edward R. CLARK, White male, died 07 JAN 1945, aged 77 years, in Alabama [sic], death certificate #1115. [Because this information conflicts with the reported death place in the Sexton's record and no entry for this individual has been detected on the Alabama Death Index, it is possible that Alabama is the place of birth, rather than death.]
