She met Paul Myers on September 17, 1976 on a blind date. They married on January 13, 1977 and were rarely apart. Pat loved to travel, camp and hike. Pat and Paul had traveled to all 50 states, all Canadian Provinces, plus one territory. Pat worked as a school cafeteria manager for CCISD for 10 years and was in customer services at Arlan's Market in Seabrook for 20 years, taking a greatly deserved early retirement last spring.
Pat was a real competitor and loved sports. She was a die-hard Houston Astro's, Houston Rockets and Houston Texan's fan. She never forgave the Oilers for leaving town. She loved watching her children and grandsons play sports.
Pat is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Paul; her mother Fay Mathews, son Robbie, and daughter Christi, grandson's Cody Myers, Tyler Lassiter, and Ethan Lassiter, brothers John Mathews, Roy Mathews, and Jim Mathews, sisters Susie Williams and Kerry Knapp, plus many brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Arnold Mathews and brother Terry Mathews
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Grand View Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Her funeral service will take place the following morning on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Grand View Funeral Home at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to St Jude's Children Hospital, Pats favorite charity. Or a live plant that can be planted as a memorial to Pat, she did not like cut flowers.
