DANVILLE – Mary Alberta Horath, 88, passed away on Tuesday (Nov. 15, 2016) at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.

Mary was born on May 26, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Thelma (Bird) Auten.

Mary was an avid reader, thoroughly enjoyed working crossword puzzles, and visiting with friends and family.

Mary graduated from Potomac High School in 1946 and married Clifford O. Horath in 1947.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Jerry) Mach of McHenry, Jody Fournier of Streamwood and Carla (Dave) Aber of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren, Noah and Noell Mach, and Ryan and Eric Fournier; and three great grandchildren, Ava, Logan and Elyse Mach.

She was preceded in death by her parents and younger sister, Geraldine Fox.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. Officiating will be her grandson, Eric Fournier. Burial will be in Potomac Cemetery in Potomac. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
