Robert W. Brooks, age 71 of Olney, passed away Novenber 15, 2016. Mr. Brooks was born on November 14, 1945 to Arthur and Cecil (McNew) Brooks in Brookfield, Indiana. He married Alice Burgin on July 17, 1987, she preceded him in death on July 28, 2015.

Robert retired from Bill's Machine Shop and had also worked at RoadMaster. Robert was an avid fisherman and hunter. He spent many hours in the woods ginseng hunting and coon hunting. Robert enjoyed woodworking and often made furniture and decor items. He loved working in his flower gardens with Alice. He spent many hours frying fish for the family and the Golden Friendship Club. Robert was a faithful and dedicated husband during Alice's battle with Alzheimer's.

Robert is survived by Son, Robert Brooks Jr. of Olney; Son, Jeffrey Neil Brooks and wife Christie of Petersburg, IN; Daughter, Amanda Scott and husband Greg of Jasper, IN; Step-Son, Victor Colwell of Jewett, TX; Step-Son, Rodney Colwell of Olney; Step-Daughter, Julia Foerster of Olney; 2 Brothers, 4 Sisters, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Robert is preceded in death by parents, wife, and 5 siblings.

Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Alice Brooks.
