Frank Michael Allegrini passed away at the age of 95 on November 11, 2016 at his home in San Francisco. A first generation American, Frank was born on October 25, 1921 in San Francisco. In 1942, he married the love of his life, the late Iris (Conti) Allegrini. Together, they raised two daughters in the City they loved, San Francisco. Frank was retired from the San Francisco Fire Department where he served for 28 years and was an active participant in S.F. Firefighters Toy Program during the early days of the program. He served in the US Coast Guard during World War II. Frank was past president and a lifetime member of the Italian American Social Club, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of Native Sons.
He is survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren... Brother to the late Julie O'Brien and the late Pauline Brelsford, uncle to ... and great uncle to .. Brother-in-law to the late Frank Conti (Gloria) and uncle to Diana Conti (Elias Olson), Elisa Conti, Frank Conti (Rose) Carol Norton (Pat) and great uncle to their six children.
A vigil will be held on November 17th at Valente Marini Perata. Funeral services will be held on November 18th at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel. Family and friends will be invited to a celebration luncheon immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made via check or money order to the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program, 1139 Mission Street. SF, CA 94103 or at www.sffirefighterstoys.org
